Privacy policy
Mariana's Room · Effective date: 13 October 2026
The short version
- You can play without an account. The game does not ask for your phone number, photos or contacts.
- Your progress is saved on your own device. If you are 13 or over you may choose to sign in with Google to keep a copy online; you can delete that account in the game at any time.
- If you tell us you are under 13, the game collects nothing about you and shows no ads.
- For players aged 13 and over, we collect pseudonymous information about how the game is played (tied to a random ID for the installation, not to your name) and about crashes, and we show ads supplied by Google. You can switch the usage data off in the game.
1. Who we are
Mariana's Room ("the game") is published by Mariana's Room Games, based in Singapore ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the information described in this policy.
Contact: support@marianasroom.app
2. The age question
When you first open the game it asks which age group you are in: under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 or older. The answer is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. It decides what the game is allowed to do:
| Age group | Usage data and crash reports | Ads | Purchases and reminders |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 13 | None collected | None shown | Not offered |
| 13 to 17 | Collected unless you switch it off | Family-rated ads that are not personalised | Offered |
| 18 or older | Collected unless you switch it off | Ads, personalised only where you have agreed or the law allows | Offered |
Until the question is answered, nothing is collected and no ads are requested. You can change your answer at any time in Menu → Privacy.
3. What stays on your device
Unless you choose to sign in (see section 4), these are saved on your device only and are not sent to us:
- your level, coins, stars, lives, boosters, room decorations and album;
- your settings (sound, vibration, timer, reminders, usage data switch);
- your answer to the age question.
Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data, removes all of this. Unless you signed in, it is not stored on our servers and we cannot restore it.
4. What we collect, for players aged 13 and over
Usage data (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand which levels are too hard, where players stop, and whether features are used, the game records events such as: a level started, won or lost and why; a booster, revive or hint used; a shop screen opened; a room item placed; a daily puzzle finished. Each event is tied to a random identifier for this installation of the game, not to your name or any account.
Along with these events Google receives general device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and country or region derived from your internet address. We have configured the game so that Analytics does not collect your advertising ID.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the game crashes, a report is sent containing the technical details of the crash (what the game was doing, device model, operating system version, free memory) and the same random installation identifier, so that we can fix the problem.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads supplied by Google AdMob: optional ads you choose to watch for a reward, and occasional ads between levels. To deliver and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect your device's advertising ID, internet address, general device information and information about the ads you see and tap.
- Players aged 13 to 17 are only shown ads that are not personalised.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game asks for your choice before any ad is requested. You can consent, refuse, or choose in detail, and you can change your choice later in Menu → Privacy.
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Optional account and cloud save (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore)
Signing in is optional, and is offered only to players aged 13 and over. If you choose Menu → Save progress online and sign in with Google, we receive from Google your email address, your name and profile picture address as set on your Google account, and an account identifier. We never see your Google password. We use these only to recognise you when you sign in again.
While you are signed in, the game keeps one copy of your save online, linked to your account: the level you have reached, coins, stars, lives and boosters, your room, your album and daily puzzles, a record of what you have bought so it can be restored, and a random identifier for the installation that made the save. It is used to restore your progress on this or another device, and for nothing else. It is not used for advertising.
You can sign out, or delete the account and its online save, in Menu → Cloud save. See deleting your account.
Purchases
If you buy something in the game, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card or bank details. We receive only a confirmation of what was bought, so the game can deliver it.
Reminders
If you turn reminders on, they are scheduled by your own device. Turning them on sends us nothing.
5. This website and emails you send us
The website at marianasroom.app has no forms, no advertising or analytics trackers, and sets no cookies. It is hosted on Google Firebase, which keeps standard server logs (such as internet address and time of request) for security. When a page loads it also reads one public settings record from Firebase (for example, whether the game is out yet); nothing about you is sent or stored.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write:
| Why you wrote | What we keep | How long |
|---|---|---|
| To be told when the game is out | Your email address | Until the launch email is sent, then no more than 90 days. You can ask us to remove it at any time. |
| For help | Your email address and your message | Up to 90 days after the matter is closed |
| A privacy request | Your email address and your request | Up to 90 days after the request is closed, plus a short record that it was handled |
Our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail).
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
- We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
7. Why we use this information
| Purpose | Legal basis (where European law applies) |
|---|---|
| Understanding how the game is played and improving it | Our legitimate interest in making the game better, or your consent where the law requires it |
| Finding and fixing crashes | Our legitimate interest in a game that works |
| Showing ads, which pay for a free game | Your consent where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interest |
| Keeping your optional account and restoring your save | Providing the service you asked for by signing in |
| Delivering purchases | Carrying out the purchase you asked for |
8. Who receives information
We use Google as a service provider for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, sign-in and online save storage (Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited). Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
9. How long information is kept
- Usage data: kept by Google Analytics for no more than 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
- Advertising data: kept by Google according to its own policies.
- Game progress: stays on your device until you remove it.
- Account and online save, if you signed in: kept until you delete the account. Deletion in the game is immediate; remaining copies in Google's backups are removed within 180 days.
10. Your choices and rights
- Switch usage data off: Menu → Privacy → Turn usage data off. Usage data and crash reports stop from that moment.
- Change your ad choices: Menu → Privacy, or reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings.
- Remove everything on your device: uninstall the game or clear its data.
- Delete your account: Menu → Cloud save → Delete account, or follow deleting your account.
- Ask us: depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of information about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, or to complain to your local data protection authority. See privacy requests, or email us at support@marianasroom.app. Unless you have signed in, we hold no name or account for you, so we may need the game's installation identifier to find your data; we will tell you how to find it.
11. Children
The game is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13. If a player tells us they are under 13, the game collects no usage data, shows no ads, and offers no purchases and no sign-in. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will say so inside the game.
